The ringing of the noon bells here at Holy Name Cathedral is meant to alert each person to take these few moments to cultivate that inner awareness of peace and to use the noon hour each day to pray for peace in a world that needs it.

Pope John Paul II tells us we must "turn to Jesus to obtain the inner peace upon which world peace can be achieved." He tells us further that "we must pray and unite both mind and heart to work for world peace."
